I have a white MacBook from about 6 months before they stopped selling them. Lately my charge cord is malfunctioning. Things it will do at different times include saying "not charging", appear to be charging but really not, light on it not work. I was wondering if replacing the cord will solve the problem or if there may be something wrong with the computer? I can eventually get it to charge usually by messing with it over and over.

Also today I just noticed this mark . It is pretty small but I'm not sure what it is or how it got there. It appears to be underneath the screen.

Thank you for any help.

I used to have a white MacBook and had problems with the cord (evidently this is a known issue with Apple). It finally wound up melting! I took it to the Apple Store and they replaced it for free. Good luck.
